Diana Beltran

Diana Beltran is a City Planner with the City of Chicago’s Department of Housing (DOH), where she plays a key role in advancing the city’s housing policies. She leads key planning and policy initiatives and works to streamline internal processes that enhance housing development and promote data transparency. A lifelong Chicagoan, Diana brings a strong background in planning across local, regional, and state levels, all fueled by her deep commitment to expanding access to affordable housing. 


Prior to joining DOH, Diana worked at the Chicago Metropolitan Agency for Planning and the Illinois Housing Development Authority, where she specialized in community revitalization, housing development, and long-range planning. She earned a B.A. in Urban Studies with a minor in Geographic Information Systems from the University of Illinois at Chicago.


Fun Facts

  • In high school, as a proud CPS kid, I got introduced to urban planning and that’s what first got me excited about building more affordable, inclusive, and equitable communities.
  • I’m a big fan of long weekends over long vacations. There’s something fun about cramming a week’s worth of adventure into just a few days!
  • Family is everything to me. I’m happiest when I’m spending time with the people I love.
