About the WP&D Board

  • WP&D is, at its heart, a “working” board. Everything that WP&D does is the result of the hard work and generous spirit of our all-volunteer board. We are looking for women who are similarly invested in WP&D’s purpose, value teamwork and open communication, and are committed to centering racial equity in all aspects of WP&D’s work.

  • A board term is considered one year. Board members have the option of staying up to two terms per position and a max of four terms total. We encourage Board members to commit to staying for two terms. For our upcoming term, we have these exciting positions open:

Joining the WP&D board has been one of the best decisions of my career. It's allowed me to hone my leadership skills while giving back to a community that supports and uplifts women in planning and development professions. The sense of camaraderie and mutual encouragement within our board is special, and I look forward to every meeting.

"I instantly felt welcomed by the WP&D board and have really enjoyed my time serving as a board member. One of the best parts is that now I'm a member of a much larger group of board alum who are doing great things all over the city and the country!"

“Grateful for the unwavering support of my fellow WP&D board members. Through their encouragement and collaboration, I've had the opportunity to enhance my communication, leadership, and networking skills. Together, we're not just discussing challenges, but also celebrating our accomplishments. This open exchange of ideas is what propels us forward!”
